What’s In My Tech Bag (EDC 2022)

The Nike Sportswear Essentials Cross-Body Bag features 2 zipped pockets to let you keep the small stuff organized and easy to grab. The accessory pocket zip pull offers quick access to smaller items, while an adjustable strap and buckle provide an easy-on-and-off fit. It’s large enough to comfortably fit an iPad mini.

The Galaxy Z Flip3 is my favourite phone from last year (it’s so cute!). The phone’s main selling point is that it folds in half like a flip phone, giving it a smaller physical footprint when closed. If you can live with the sub-par battery life - this might be the phone to get if you’re itching to try a foldable phone! The case is also from Samsung - it’s the silicone protective cover with ring in olive green.

The 40mm Galaxy Watch 4 pairs perfectly with the Galaxy Z Flip3. Checking notifications, taking calls & paying for stuff right from my wrist is a convenience I don’t think I can live without these days. I swapped with white band or a cheap grey one & added a protective bezel cover that has saved me from shattering the screen on countless occasions because I always seem to be slamming it into things.

Yes, technically this isn’t an item that’s “in my bag”, but it is something I carry with me regularly being a content creator. Honestly, I absolutely hate carrying a camera around, but taking photos on my walks and hikes has been super relaxing and a lot of fun. My current photography setup is the Sony A4600 with the Tampon 17-70mm lens. I know, I know… unless you’re into cameras, those names probably sound like a whole bunch of gibberish. The Peak Design camera strap is one of those items I wish I picked up sooner. The best part is the quick release design, that makes attaching it not only satisfying, but so much easier. Highly recommend.

ENTERTAINMENT - iPAD MINI / eREADER / NINTENDO SWITCH OLED

I would love to carry all three of these things on a daily basis, but the truth is that it’s just way too much bulk. I’ll usually grab one depending on what I feel like doing that day.

  • The iPad mini is the one I find myself reaching for most often because it’s the most versatile. It’s like the perfect size for taking notes, watching Netflix or just browsing the web while I’m on the go.

  • Reading more books is one of my personal goals this year and this eReader has been a game changer for me. Yeah, sure I can stick with the iPad, but for longer reading sessions, an eReader is so much easier on my eyes and less distracting. It also doesn’t need to be charged for weeks at a time, so that’s one less thing for me to worry about. Highly recommend it if you’re trying to get into the habit of reading.

  • I like to bring along the Nintendo switch  if I’m in the mood for gaming. The Switch is like the perfect console for me since I’m a really casual gamer. Being able to start and stop playing whenever wherever is really nice.

I use a simple card holder to store my ID and some spare cash for emergencies. I have a couple, but a personal favourite of mine is the Charlie card holder from Hershel.

The key organizer is from Orbitkey. This is a pretty popular, but there are other brands out there that make something similar. It serves as a cover and keeps your keys neatly stacked on top of each other so when you toss it in your bag or pocket, you don’t have to worry about keys stretching up other things.

SMALL ACCESSORIES - YUBIKEY / INCHARGE 6 / SD CARD READER / POWER BANK

  • Something I always carry with me is a power bank. I’m always paranoid about running out of battery. I legit have battery anxiety. The Z Flip3 also doesn’t have the best battery life which doesn’t help with that - so it’s nice to have a little extra juice just in case.

  • The Yubico Yubikey is a hardware security key for all my online accounts - If you do any sort of work online, definitely look into a reliable password manager & one of these to protect yourself from getting hacked. You can learn more about security keys HERE.

  • I used to carry around several cables, but not anymore! The Incharge 6 is a universal cable that you can attach to your keys. One end converts from USB A - USB C while the other converts from USB C to Lighting. So, this pretty much has me covered for any emergency charging.

  • This portable SD card reader is from Anker and I mainly use it to transfer photos taken with my camera onto my phone or tablet while I’m on the go. It also comes in really handy if you have a laptop that doesn’t have a SD card slot.

That’s a quick breakdown of what I’m rocking these days. I’ve always found it interesting to see what type of stuff people carry around with them - so hopefully you enjoyed this as well! Feel free to share some of your favourite everyday carry items in the comments!
